General details:

Playa Blanca is just S of Puerto del Rosario & is right beside the main road & by the Parador (Spanish government-run hotel).

This is a sandy beach, popular with local surfers & body-boarders.

I've never windsurfed there, but often thought it looks ok, with small waves. I've heard the water's not too clean round here (although it looks clean), being so close to Puerto del Rosario.

Prevailing wind is cross-on from the left (port-tack).

Directions to the right place:

Heading S from Rosario:

Drive past the junction for the ring road, then bear immediately R & then back under the road signposted to the Parador.

Heading N from Caleta:

Just past the end of the airport runway, there's a petrol station on the L. Bear off to the R immediately after, signposted to the Parador.

Facilities:

Puerto del Rosario is 2 minutes away!

Loads of shops, couple of supermarkets. Cheaper than in the holiday resorts.

Small port! If you're driving to Fuerte from home, this is where your ferry will dock.

Bars, cafés, restaurants, etc. Probably more for locals than for tourists.
