Re: Sat 5th Dec Axbridge

Interesting. I was at WSM with at least 20 others. Very gusty, tricky conditions. Wind was SW/SSW which meant heading pretty much straight out into the lines of good sized waves marching in. Only trouble was the wind had a tendency to suddenly disappear just as a wave approached, resulting in a swim...

Re: Saturday 12th

I didn't make the trip to Newton in the end as I wasn't convinced it would be worth it. Instead I popped down to WSM to catch the incoming tide. Sadly I also caught the last of the wind as it dropped away after 5pm, as forecast by the Met Office. Pootled around in the waves for a while and had a bit...

Saturday 12th

Thinking it might be worth a trip to Newton tomorrow as W wind forecast and high tide too late for Weston. Any interest? Portland could be another possibility but may need to do a lot of wading out.

Re: this week

Decent session in the sunshine yesterday (Thursday) at Weston. Planing up and down on my 6.3/110L combo from around 5pm till gone 7, the first hour and a bit being especially good before the wind started to ease slightly and it gradually got more marginal. Only a handful of us out, not Dismal at all...

......and also, Richard commanded me to take out the club GPS 'just to register a speed' so I did. Thanks to Pete Davies for telling me how to operate it, the next lesson will have to be how to go faster. :)

Re: WSM - Saturday 25 July

Yes, it was a great afternoon, sunny, warm and windy. Stuck with the 6.3 on the Naish 110, could probably have got away with something smaller but I had a very good workout. Topped it off with a mint choc chip ice cream. Well worth the prolonged but very scenic drive down totally avoiding the M5 car...

I'm looking at WSM too, only fly in the ointment may be the M5 as first weekend of school holidays!

Re: Sat 6th June

Weston was good on the falling tide once the sun came out properly. 5.7 and floaty board were just the ticket. :D
