I had a pretty ropey pint of Smiles Bristol IPA in a pub in Gloucester after the Bris/Glaws match at the week end. The pub could keep a good pint when we switch to something from Cornwall.

Hamworthy

Whilst picking up my new board in Poole I took the chance to have a look at the Hamworthy site that Neil and Ian had recommended. However at the moment they are doing a lot of work there and the carpark is closed and torn up. I can not remember if the sign said it was closed for 3 or 6 weeks. Just a...

Finally collected my shinny new board on Sunday. :D It still in is wrapping, and it looks tiny sat on top of my knackered old grandpa Techno. Any tips on fitting footstraps, I'm terrified I'll over tighten the screw. Not sure when its going to hit the water, but I definitely want it warmer than it w...

Telegraph Neilson Holidays offer?

Can anyone who reads the Telegraph please post detail and the relevant passwords from the Telegraph Neilson Holidays offer? I've just seen it on the Neilson website, and I believe there was something similar at the boatshow.

Well the worst is over, lots of fiberglass, filler and Epoxy everywhere, and it looks a mess, but at least there are no more holes or splits. It was quite frightening when I saw the mess left after I cut away the damage  Also still trying to find one of these swimming sausage/spaghetti things...

I don't think there were any of us Techno fans who didn't warn that the major down side was the weekness of the nose. But as Neil has proven, and he's a much better windsurfer than I, its not a problem unique to the Techno, but it is one it specialise in. I wonder if its made to look worst by the fa...

If only I had a board, its either
1. go and collect the new small one which I from the shop in Poole, and the wind looks rubbish down there :(
or
2. spend Saturday up to my neck in FibreGlass and Epoxy trying to fix the old one

Thanks guys, I've not found exactly what happened this time, but last time the boom clamp with bra hit the joint of the deck and the rail. I know because: 1- there was a big blue mark on the boom-bra, 2- the was a circular indentation about an inch and a half on the joint. However the damage then, a...

Got the theory on that one Ian, not sure about the practice. I've managed to avoid being catapulted most of the year since I broke the nose in the summer. I think it was as much a set of circumstances that piled against me. I don't remember the exact details but I think it was the actions of going f...

Its exactly the reason why I joined the Nomads Ian, and also why I made the comments on the split of sites on the agenda. Sailing in inland or Poole or Portland or any such enclosed sites in a group is exactly what I'm hoping. I would say at least 50-70% of the trips should offer this. When I looked...

Come on Neil, you know I'm a few years behind you in my Windsurfing development and so need regular outings. From where we work, there no option but the lake if I want to got on a flexed Friday afternoon. Even you were a member there once. If you remember the damaged I did last time, well this is ab...

Managed to get out on the Cotwolds Lake on Friday. Choose to use my 5.5 which was a mistake as I struggled to get going and it would not hold me through the lulls, while the other lads were planning straight through on their 6.5m. It got even worst when the wind picked up, as the sail had not been h...

All this makes my new years day visit to the Cotswold Waterpark seem very tame. However 4 of us out (I keep try to interest the others in the Nomads) which started off quite quite, we were all on about 6.5M sails. Then it got interesting as we started planning all over the place, then all hell broke...

Went last Thursday when the air was a bit warmer, which was a bit of an adventure for me. See other posting. Keeping an eye on the forecasts for this week, as it could be an option.
