Matt - up to my neck (almost, but not quite, literally) in garden work.

Looked good from here.

Has the wind been bad this year or is it just me?

Maybe we'll have a windy few months.

Long shots in an E/NE:

Minehead? Possibly on a rising tide.

Swansea bay? Possibly around high tide

OK thats the last time I'm handing out free weather advice: Plenty of thermal mixing going on out there!

Days like this make it almost worthwhile being a member at Farmoor.

Maybe sailable from about 16:30 to sunset at WSM on Friday, but its looking pretty wintry and I suspect the wind won't be there (two factors in this - the tendency for wind to disappear towards sunset because the thermal mixing stops, returning it to higher levels, and the lax of thermal mixing in t...

My smallest sail is a 4.0 and I have plenty of annual leave left, but still find it difficult taking days off to go sailing. Maybe if the water was warmer ?

Adrian
I heard that he's not in fact the owner. He runs the cafe and operates the car park, under some kind of arrangement with the council who own the land.

I went to Aberavon on Saturday, thinking that the wind would be too onshore at Weston. It was nicely cross-on there but dropped off from about 1pm onwards so the 6m I rigged wasn't really enough by the time I got out. Also, there were some big-ish waves that would say very firmly "not today, si...

Wind forecast

Saturday looks like 20mph WNW which may be a bit too onshore for W_S_M but Ok if you can get out.

Sunday looks like a dud.

Monday looks better for a good north-westerly if you have flexible work arrangements

Don't you have some kind of Mother's day commitment? I don't normally, but you should never underestimate the potential for something like MD to seriously increase traffic in places like Poole around lunch time.

Tides are Ok for Weston this weekend ...

Hi,
I would also be up for that MBR route. If you don't mind having an unfit inexperienced noob trailing along after you. And the weather isn't too bad.

Can't say I enjoyed the Penhydd fire-road climbs that much. Will tackle the wall next time.

Aye it must've been Penhydd. Not sure how wise it was heading out on my own but I did have a phone with me. Wouldn't want to spend a night impaled on a pine tree stump half way round there :( Ah that - next thing you'll be telling me it was possible to catch a clean uncrowded wave at Rest Bay that a...
