Re: WSM Wed 6th Aug

Had a slow start, as I rigged a 4.7, which was too small - sand on the beach was wet after a night of rain, so not blowing around which scuppered my loo test  . So derigged, and rigged the 5.5, and had a lovely summer cruisin' session on that, and the 85 litre. It was the first time I've saile...

Re: WSM Weds 6th.Aug afternoon

Hi Graham - I have my eye on it :-).

I'll try and get there earlyish to sail the incoming tide, rather than the outgoing. Will see tomorrow, but I agree it is looking promising.

Re: Sat 2nd.Aug.

Knap looks really good for tomorrow afternoon, and tide is a good time for sailing during the afternoon. That's your best bet, Graham :-).
Don't think I can make it; have fun.

Re: Sat 2nd.Aug.

Too rainy wet for me tomorrow!

Sunday looks better - but I am not sure I am around. If I were , then I may have headed to WSM for a sail on the outgoing tide (it is quite early in the day, so that is if the wind had arrived!).

Re: WSM Sunday 27/7 - proper windy!

Hi Keith - sounds as though you need to go shopping :D Graham - Sunday's wind didn't appear on the forecasts until quite late in the day. I'd written the weekend off and given up looking - then got tipped off about it. Your fav Met Office forecast was pretty accurate in the end. Matt - yes, certainl...

Re: WSM Sunday 27/7 - proper windy!

We'll let you off Richard, seeing as you did turn up :) . It was probably a wise decision to abort - as a 5.7 may have been a handful, and challenging conditions for a relative newcomer to WSM. We did all say that it was just as well you weren't trying it - didn't want you put off for life  . A...

Re: WSM Tuesday 29/7

Hi Phil - when did that wind sneak into the forecast for tomorrow? I'd missed that! Unfortunately I can't make it though - and judging by how sore I am feeling now, I'm not sure my body would be up for it! Have fun - it looks to be promising, and I'm sure there will be plenty of others there too. Su...

WSM Sunday 27/7 - proper windy!

Line of the day goes to Bob, who phoned early afternoon to ask .... "are you sure there will be wind there today?". Yes, buckets of wind. Sand was being blown at head height into eyes outside the loos - so that signalled 4.2m weather for me :D . So, yes it was very windy yesterday, and good fun was ...

Re: Sunday 27/7 WSM

Still looking good for tomorrow - and I'm looking forward to getting into some cool water (... even if it is brown  !).

Hope to see you there Richard. I'd say to aim to get on the water as soon as it is possible for the "easiest" sailing. That will mean "the" walk. :)

Sunday 27/7 WSM

Looks like Sunday may work :D :D :D .

High tide 8.00pm ish ; on the water shortly after 5.00pm ... ish?

Should be lovely if it works. High tide not quite as high as two weeks ago ... for those who were there, and can remember what happened  .

Re: WSM Monday 21/7

It was really warm on the beach yesterday despite the winds - no fleece required before or after sail, even for me  .

Agree - can't see any windy days looking for the foreseeable future! Fingers crossed these forecasts change!

WSM Monday 21/7

Took a bit of a punt today as to whether the wind would blow - but the Met Office did give an optimistic forecast :) . I didn't see any sign of wind, though, until I turned into the road by the loos at the beach front. Then, from the amount of sand blowing along the road - it seemed to be 4.7 weathe...

Re: Club BBQ Weekend 19th, 20th July

Sounds as though you all had a great time - and the weather was kind to you (for the BBQ and windsurfing) in the end :-).

Re: WSM Monday 21/7

Wind seems to have swung W and is showing signs of picking up. So I shall pop along this afternoon and take a look.
High tide is at 2.50 - so hopefully there will be some wind for the outgoing tide.

Anyone else ?
