Sunday 25th

Anyone else thinking WSM may work today late afternoon? High tide is quite late - 7.30 pm?

Already 10mph W, and BBC site shows 17 - 20mph later afternoon evening (that was a surprise to see as I don't think that was showing yesterday ... ).

I can't make it today unfortunately :(

Hi Justin
Now you mention it ... it does look interesting! Some websites are showing wind, but inshore waters does not have a red line round it for that part of the coast. Wonder how guaranteed it is ??
I had an eye on WSM for tomorrow, but that isn't looking v promising now.

Decided not to got to WSM - tired after yesterday, but could have been persuaded if it were sunny and windy. So I'll stay put and get on with other things. Hope the wind picks up for anyone that goes along.

Hi Neroli Thanks for posting re BBQ logistics. A few were wondering yesterday what the score was re today, but I'm not sure who is definitely going along. Looking at the forecast this morning I'm not convinced there will be much wind. I was wrong (the other way though) on Friday, so I'm not 'always'...

Hi Keith and Richard What a great day yesterday! :D :D Still buzzing this morning despite a sore body and hands. Really good to sail with so many Nomads (and potential new Nomad, Rachael) and the regular Axbridgers too. Wind was quite consisent, especially early to mid afternoon (for a W), which all...

Are we BBQing and sailing at WSM tomorrow? Do we have a BBQ ??? What time do we meet? What time do we BBQ ? Do we bring our own...

Hi Graham
Timing of the tides/ wind etc is one of my reasons for Axbridge as there still could be plenty of wind around when there is no water at WSM! But then again, 2 hours decent wind at WSM could be better than not quite enough at Axbridge
It's a lottery!

Hello Looks like the W wind is picking up (15mph at Bristol Airport). I'm off now to check out Axbridge - if it doesn't look like doing anything, then I'll move onto WSM. Hopefully there will be decent wind for the whole day. Look forward to seeing Richard and Alison, Graham, Keith up there. Hope th...

Hi Justin and Graham I'm looking to sail somewhere tomorrow. Skunked today by the wind at WSM, so I don't feel qualified to predict where is best for tomorrow!! However it will be windier at WSM than at Axbridge, but Axbridge is good for hanging around all day, and if it really does blow in then wit...

Thanks Martin - don't want a long drive/ full day out tomorrow, so I'll go and have a look at WSM. Wind is predicted to be SW, so even if highish tide it should be easier to get out past any submerged posts compared to a westerly. I'll report on how any others fare if I don't get on the water ... An...

Hi Jeremy I'm staying local tomorrow ie WSM. I live the wrong side of Bristol for Portland, so on a weekday it can take 2.5hrs + to get there. Don't have the inclination for that tomorrow, particularly as it looks pretty windy down there again, and I fear I'd be overpowered on my kit (happened a cou...

Just checked various weather sites and my intended plan is to sail at WSM on Friday. High tide is at 11.00am ish, so if it's too big (wavey) I'll let it drop and sail 1 - 3 hrs post high tide when hopefully it may flatten a bit. I'll need to save some energy for the walk back! Friday looks to be sun...

Hi Pete
Half keeping an eye on it - but I'm a fair weather person for Weston, and won't be keen if it's raining. At the moment Friday looks to be drier than tomorrow. The tides will be v high - not sure if that is a problem or not?
