Sunday WSM 27/6

Possibly getting ahead of myself - but Sunday evening could be OK at WSM from about 5.30pm? Would mean missing the footie, but I could live with that for a good sail!
Anyone else up for it the wind looks like delivering?

At WSM today. Didn't have an offical wind reading machine with me but I reckon it was 20mph on the beach ie 17 knots (from 4.00pm onwards). The Nomads wind machine said max of 8.7knts, so reading v low.

tropical WSM 24/6

:D :D :D Beautiful sail this afternoon at WSM - the W seabreeze kicked in and I had a great couple of hours from just before 4.00pm, perfectly powered and balanced on a 5.5 and 85 litre, in well- behaved (wind and waves that is ) conditions . Probably my best sail to date there. Not many others abou...

Hi Graham Yes, very pleased I went, so apologies if I put anyone off by my initial forecast above ! WSM certainly seems to deliver when wind is from the W and there is a bit of sun. Really good to see so many out enjoying the day too, and other Nomads Matt, Justin, Lorraine, Ian, Neroli, Nigel. I ha...

Did not even register WSM was an option this morning (!), however had an unexpectedly good blasting day in the sunshine at Axbridge today for my first sail of the year. Wind was far stronger than forecast (wind machine up at the clubhouse reading 17 - 22 knots W). Was fully powered up on my 5.5 and ...

Just realised I could have been there today   - getting wet for the first time this year ( .. showers excepted of course :D ).

May keep an eye on it for tomorrow now, but I'm thinking the M5 tomorrow afternoon may be a bit of a nightmare. Any other takers for tomorrow?

Yes, Newton is a good place Al - I need to get back there again. Pleased you had a good sail, and it was fortunate that you were able to get yourself back in again, even if it meant ending the session early.

weekend 5 / 6th Dec

Sat - didn't get my a*se into gear to travel to Portland, so went up to Axbridge knowing that there was no wind forecast, but hoping that all the forecasts were wrong and that there was an unexpected gale just around the corner. Needless to say there wasn't :( ! Walked around the lake, saw a fisherm...

I'm going off the idea of a long trek to the coast tomorrow now - will probably see what is happening here, and if there is any wind pop up to Axbridge. I toyed with the idea of not joining there this year, but have succumbed and renewed my membership again this week, as it does have the occassional...

Looks like there will be some wind about this weekend. Is anyone thinking of sailing? I may go somewhere tomorrow. Unfortunately I have a rescue boat duty on Sunday at Axbridge ( ... I volunteered to do it last Monday when the forecast was not looking good for the weekend, thinking it would be good ...

Yes, clearly spookily parallel, Lord T ...

The important question is what colour is your new sail? And when can we expect it's christening event ?
