Weymouth Sunday 25th

Tomorrow is looking good for Portland, so I was thinking of making the trip (and ignoring the hour change tonight!). Anyone else planning to be there?

Well worth the trip. I was there for 10.00am, and v pleased to meet up with Brian straight away. Ian, Neroli and Axel turned up a little later. I went for my mid sized sail (5.5) - slightly underpowered to start, but had a fantastic powered up mid day session which made it all worth while. Wind tail...

Had a "spelling cow" problem and couldn't post. Ian's tip helped , thanks.
Yes, off to Portland today as there should be some wind. I've heard it's Weymouth Speed week, so hope that doesn't mean I can't sail there?
Anyone else going??

I'm not going either and have made other plans now. Need to get non- windsurfing things out the way on these kind of weekends, to make way for when the wind does eventually blow again!

Hi Keith
I would like to make the trip - but at the moment I don't believe the winds are looking too promising!! I'll keep an eye on it, but I'll only go if it's likely to be decent sailing weather. I'd be in a B&B if I went - not researched that yet though so would be open to recommendations.

Thanks Justin Decided not to go - as the wind does seem strongest in the morning with this wind direction (well it has over the past few days), and then drops. It's a long way to go on the off chance. Will wait for decent winds to return, and in the meantime get on with some non-windsurfing tasks!! ...

Thanks Justin I suppose this should be in the "trips" section, but have you got your eye on anywhere for sailing this weekend? I was wondering if Portland may be OK for Saturday - and get there for first thing in the morning. This morning Portland had winds of over 22mph, which decreased to about 16...

WSM in a NE

Does anyone know whether WSM is OK in a NE wind (provided there is some wind of course) ? I see today that XC weather has shown actual wind speeds of 15/ 16mph for Bristol Airport, and over the next few days it looks like we have similar wind direction so we may end up with some windy days, plus the...

WSM Friday 4

I'll put the outing down to being an experience!! First learning point is to check out the situation on the M5 before leaving home for WSM on a Friday afternoon. The M5 at the end of the Portway was chokka, so I retraced my tracks back home. Having discovered it was only Avonmouth bridge works, I de...

Hi Justin and Lorraine Am currently trawling the weather sites and thinking I will probably go for a sail today. My current thinking is that I'll go to Axbridge (it can be really good there in a westerly). If its not quite delivering then I may go from there to WSM as it will be a force stronger (bu...

Axbridge is not open on a Friday so you won't get a sail there. It's open weekends, bank holidays and , in summer, weds evenings (the latter now stopped I think).

Liddlerich Good call that you went to WSM and not Axbridge yesterday. Officially no sailing at Axbridge, but by 5.00pm I couldn't stand it any longer watching others out and just had to go for a sail. Had a good hour, but then received an "addressing to" by one of the dinghy committee members. Fair ...
