Re: Sunday 2nd Nov 14 - Portland

Thanks for lending me the Fanatic Green Bee Ian - very impressed with both board and sail! After a few tips from Ian on 'Old Millenium' boards, managed to get it up to a very exciting 27knots in the chop  . Nomad Nic was out too, on a slightly newer style Fanatic Board (a shiny new Gecko, I t...

Portland Sunday 2nd Nov

Me and Lorraine going to Portland tomorrow. Forecast still looking warm and windy :D .
Will be bringing the club GPS along. Could be good conditions for breaking the current Nomad 2014 Speed records.

Re: Sunday 26th.

Sorry to hear about the van Bob, obviously it didn't want to wait for it's Winter hibernation. Me and Lorraine had a lucky morning session at Newton, about 2 hours good wind :D . Odd direction for Newton, dead onshore, sailing across to Ogmore and back, nice views with a few lumps to keep it interes...

Re: Sunday 26th.

Portland looks good, but think I'm going to try Newton, Porthcawl tomorrow morning, early to make the most of wind and tide (and avoid loosing a fin on the reefs).

Re: Sat 18th Brean ..... or not

Went to Brean to avoid bike race at WSM, only to find the beach marked out for a kite buggy race  . Luckily they were slow moving enough to avoid, even while carrying kit through the course to and from the water. On the water around midday, nice waves but not enough wind. After an hour of wobb...

Re: Sunday 19th. Oct

Hi Keith
Planning on getting to Brean (the second beach parking, not Berrow Sands which is first) by midday. Plan to sail from the furthest South bit (away from Brean Down) by the wooden bollards (toilet nearby, normal sailing area for Brean locals).

Re: Sunday 19th. Oct

A warm and windy weekend predicted :D .Hamworthy looks a really good option for Sunday at the moment with good wind and tides, but also tempted by Newton, Porthcawl for some 'local' waves.
Going to Brean tomorrow, since WSM shut.

Re: Last weekend of August

A Knaptastic weekend! :D
5.7m/97L good for both days, Lorraine on 5.0m/96L. Classic 'Sea Breeze' conditions today, with sunshine and wind all afternoon filling in up to the beach 8) .

WSM Saturday

Got a good 'post work' sail yesterday :D . Arrived at the beach to see Lorraine and Graham zooming around in the sunshine making it look good, Lorraine on 4.5m/80L. After some hasty rigging had a couple of hours fun on the lumpy brown stuff, plenty of power for the 5.7m/86L combo, before the wind st...

Sunday August 17th

Good day sailing at Portland yesterday :D . Group of Nomads out enjoying themselves. Lorraine, Keith and myself all managed to break our personal GPS speed records for 2014 so far, but fastest recorded speed (by some way  ) was by Phil.

Knap Saturday 16th August

Fun sail at the Knap today :D . Nicely powered on 5.0m, Lorraine on 4.5m, despite some clouds and some serious looking weather over the channel in Devon.
Some surprisingly good conditions for practicing speed for tomorrow, with Graham recording his best UK speed  .
