Made the leap from the Sailing barge 0.5 to 5mph wind speed to the Carve 10 to 20mph wind speed, it put a grin on my face. Fantastic day at Hamworthy, thanks to Keith, Neroli and Ian for all the help and tips with rigging and sailing. It's all going in I'm just finding it a lot to put into practice....

Please, please, please somebody go to Poole or Portland.
Currently decorating the downstairs toilet.
Ruth will not let me go windsurfing on my own.
I'm desperate to get out with the new 144 swim float.
If not it's another day painting round the loo for me.
Anybody? It's a good cause.

Sticky Boom

Decided to rig one of my new sales last weekend, had a right royal battle getting the boom to extend.
Eventually managed to pull the extension out and have managed to get it moving again.
Should I be leaving the extension out over winter?
Are there any recommended lubricants?

Given some advice on which sails to buy, noted on the back of an envelope. Went to Windy World and forgot the envelope. Not to worry, decided to guess. The 1 reasonable sail that I have which I thought was a 6.5 turned out to be a 5.5. Bought the following: 1 x 6.5m Tush. T4. 1 x 7.5m Tush. T4. 1 x ...

Good progress on floating toy front.

Now the proud owner of a nimble 144 Carve.
I managed to put it on the roof of the car without a Forklift truck.

No more dragging the sailing barge to the waters edge.
Just need to pluck up enough courage to sail it now.

Next, I shall sniff out a sailing rig.

Richard
If you do get any information about good venues in France could you
post it on the forum or let me know.
A trip to France would be fun.

Dro, grip advice taken.

I set of on a quest for my inner man and found him cowering in one of the post christmas wobbly bits.

Good news, he is the groveling maestro, better than that groveling really works. I am now the proud owner of a shiny, sunny foreign holiday brochure.

I knew it, Vintage. If there are any curators of wealthy museums tuned into the forum I'm happy to discuss offers, bids from private collectors will also be considered. I have the original mast, boom and 1 sail, unfortunately the neighours dog took a shine to the mast foot and it would now make a fi...

Matt, hadn't given that much thought until now. There are some interesting posts on this forum and others, ranging from lumps of foam taped to the board to some odd looking device called Jez's Knob. In the Starboard catalogue they show a "HD mast impact protector" anyone ever tried one? Phil

Like the sound of that dro. Sadly my domestic life is strictly Buildings maintenance and grounds, my wife deals with the accounts (if I'm honest everything else really). Have you any idea how difficult it is explaining that Wind Surfers World really is a DIY shop and how usefull the water based tool...

Richard, the sailing barge is a BIC, I'm not sure of the model, definitely a practical classic bordering on vintage. I would like to post a picture of it but can't figure out how. Don't think I'll ever get it to plane without an outboard. I like the 144 Carve mostly based on what people have said, t...
