Re: Sail Repairs

Don't know if you can see this facebook entry from last month Bob, but they are still recommending Bristol Sails, which I though we got a discount with:

Re: Portland Sun 27th and Wed 30th

I went to Hamworthy yesterday as planned. Wind took a while to kick in about mid-day, then stayed most of the day until I started to drop off the plan at about 4-30. I spent the first hour and half with a 7.5 on my Rocket125, plus a few recovery breaks. Before admitting defeat (or being over powered...

Re: Portland Mon. Tues

If the forecast hold as it is, I'm planning to take a trip down to Hamworthy tomorrow.

Re: Thurs. 25th.

Pretty good day on the Mud. wind more or less as forecast 20ish mph early on, then dropping for the after work arrivals. I had a good 2 hours on my Kombat97/6.5 before my arms gave up fighting and flying with what seemed like the bigger than normal lumps for the wind. Unusually most were on small sa...

Re: Thurs. 25th.

Forecast looking good this morning, picked up a bit from when I last looked and no rain. Sounds like there should be a reasonable Nomad turnout. :D

Re: Thurs. 25th.

Well the forecast looks OK for the pre-HT(16-15) session at the moment, but its been different every day this week! I was originally looking at it as there was no rain forecast on Thursday, now looks like the rain will disappear when the water arrives. Today's forecast was not looking good b...

Re: Thursday 17th.Sept

I've been watching them as well Bob, the current forecast for Hamworthy is not worth the journey. Portland looks OK for the afternoon, but not convinced yet its worth the journey, so certainly won't be an early start I had planned. May be tempted if the forecast improves, but like you it will be a m...

July NewsletterLake Garda Trip Write up

I've just got round to reading the July newsletter in details, better late than never. I would like to say how interesting I found Julian's write up of their Lake Garda trip, and offer my thanks. Good to hear he had at least one successful trip on the water. Lake Garda is a place I've often fancied ...

Thursday 17th.Sept

Was tempted to do something today but never got my act together, particularly as high tide is after dark at WSM and the weather not encouraging. Based on the current forecast I am thinking of heading down to Hamworthy on Thursday if anyone is interested.

Re: Saturday 12th

I saw matt's suggestion too late, else would have been interested. Never sailed at porthcawl so would like to try it when they are others going. Hope you had a good day.

Re: Weds 9th.Sept

Great day at Portland yesterday, wind very much as forecasted, sun and wind, Easterly on-shore in the high teens/low twenties. Shame only Nomad Lorraine made it on the Water but I was surprised to meet up with Emma and Martin, friends from the Sam Ross clinic in Turkey who were making their slow way...

Weds 9th.Sept

The Met office is showing some reasonable wind for Portland tomorrow for the first time in a while. Anyone likely to make the trip down.
