Yay - success at last.

Short and Sweet with a piccie seems to be the winning formula.

Well done Brian :D

Which links?? very good question. As a recent convert I have no clue which would be a good one? Do you have a favorite?

Bath Ales are apparently within walking distance - I wonder if they do tours - definitely worth checking, watch this space

Next Year's Pub Venues

Ok chaps we are at the time of year when the committee decide on venues for next year, both for awaydays and for the all important social on the Thursday beforehand. We try to make sure that we cover as much of our catchment area as possible, but are always on the lookout for new places, do you have...

Choosing locations is always tricky 'cos we never know which direction the wind will be blowing or how much, we also have to take into account the tides (though these tend to be annual in the case of our local reservoirs!). On the Portland weekend in question the venue had been changed from Saunton ...

Agree with everything said by Ian, especially in the boom department. Beware of getting a complete package tempting though it may sound, for beginner kit you tend to get the cheap stuff 'cos you don't know any better. We had a starter board and rig set. It consisted of an F2 Phoenix 320 (which was g...

Glad you finally tried this route. I've done it twice once in the dry and once in the wet - loved it both times.

In the summer it is short enough to do in an evening, which makes it even better, excellent way to end the day

Hamworthy was definitely the right choice - I had a great day. There was plenty of wind for my 5m. It was the first time that I'd ventured to Brownsea Island, the blast all the way back was great fun. By the time the wind really set in at 3:00pm I was too pooped to change down. Even had a good downp...

Can we jump back to the main forum page after posting?

Martin - the forums section is great. Took me a while to get started, but up and going now. My only gripe is that once I have posted a reply or whatever I can't get back to the main forums index - just the "Select a forum" thingy (technical term!) in the bottom right hand corner. Am I miss...

Thanks To All

I had a great day on Sunday, though it was quite a challenge. I just wanted to thank the support team - we definitely couldn't have done it without you. Hot tea and cake at Overcombe was very welcome, many thanks to Steve for that. I confess to being one of those who couldn't get back through the ga...

Chilly Extremities!

I also suffer with loss of circulation in the hands. I start by losing feeling and colour in the last two two fingers on each hand and progress from there. It happened to me in Bigbury in July this year which was very disappointing! Just shows how cold it has been this summer. Thanks for the Neutrag...

Glad to hear that John is still windsurfing, thanks for letting us know Graham.

I must see if I can dig out his details and get him back with us again, it would be good to see him at awaydays again. :D
