Turned out to be a cracking ride - thanks Adrian for performing all navigational duties and leading us to a perfect pub just when we were all about to perish from dehydration. 36miles round the top of the ridgeway, stopping for ice-creams, water and beer as appropriate - just under seven hours from ...

Lap of Black Down on Monday eve - 16th August 2004

Anyone fancy joining Neroli and Ian for a lap of Black Down on Monday evening? A lap of Black Down consists of about an hour or so of single track riding up and down the edge of the top of the Mendips, it is an excellent way to work off the stresses of a day in the office. :D Plan is to head out fro...

I'm afraid I recommend a proprietry chain cleaner. For years I have used Finish Line's clip on chain cleaner and found it very effective. Alas they don't last that long before they snap - I think I have just broken my third, however they do a very good job. The finish line version is proving hard to...

Cym Carn delivers the goods again on Wed 11/8/04

Cracking ride once again, slightly faster this time as we have a better idea of what we are letting ourselves in for - only means you come off at a different set of points. Somehow the rain held off and once again, the ground shows how well it drains and stays together despite the number of bikers t...

Final point I forgot to mention - it is one of the few beaches I can windsurf from after work, and no matter how poor the conditions are, sailing after work feels FANTASTIC

As the saying goes - "Better a bad day on the water than a good day in the office."

Monday evening's ride round Ashton Court

Given the amount of rain in the last 24 hours, this evenings trip was always going to be muddy, however as it turned out, it wasn't that bad. The areas in Lea Woods was drier than the previous time we went there, however everywhere was very slippery which added a whole new dimension to crossing tree...

Why Weston?

It also teaches you to shut your mouth as you fall in. :D A skill that you acquire by stealth and it is not until you are sailing at a totally different venue and a fellow sailor complains about the water, that you realise you have it! Great practice beach - as Martin says, if you can sail at Weston...
