Quantocks ride - Sunday 29th
All,
I'm doing a guided ride on the Quantocks this Saturday and Vicky and I will be riding there on the Sunday as well - anyone fancy joining us?
We'll aim to start around 10:30 from the car park formally known as Stellas.
Register your interest here by close of play Friday evening.
Cheers,
Rob.

Nice to read that really really dirty word again
Thoght that the trail was closed.
Just returned from Abergorlech following LT(canine) around
Took my life in my own hands by cycling really slowly and lived (and breathed) to tell the tale.
The last downhill was much harder with the front wheel turning freely !!!
Have nice ride

RaV, many thanks for an excellent ride this afternoon.
Pics from the trip can be viewed http://www.oakleaze.net/Quantocks_29062008
The terraine profile suggests we encountered one or two bits that weren't flat . The route map doesn't start and finish at the same place because I switched off the GPS during our (excellent) cream tea - without a doubt the poshest place I have ever been in muddy lycra. Probably just as well we were able to sit outside in the garden. As you will see from the photos, Paul fitted in like a local.

Total distance - 16.9 miles

Excellent photos - looks like you had a great time. Sorry to have missed it, but I suppose you can't have fun in 2 different places at one time!

It's an ill wind that never blows at all.

Fantastic days ride in the Quantocks, thanks to Rob for guiding, Ian for his photography Vicky, Neroli, Viv, Rachel,Steve, and Paul for your company and to the "grumpy old man " for reminding us of how not to behave when you are an adult !
Unfortunately Stellas cafe wasnt open when I visited the Quantocks before but the Michelin starred tea room tried hard to live up to its reputation
Cream tea highly recommended but I'm trying the hot chocolate the next time we visit

Onwards and upwards
Great ride despite a grumpy old man on the trail and a slightly grumpy man at the tea stop - not sure all welcome on the sign was true but more like all welcome except MTBers!
Thanks Ian for the pics - still not sure how Paul Mac did not go over the bars on the log drop - never seen forks so compressed they looked ridgid
Thanks to all for your company

Worse still, it looks as though Paul's pulling on the front brake. Looks like an epic nose wheelie!RaV wrote:still not sure how Paul Mac did not go over the bars on the log drop - never seen forks so compressed they looked ridgid
I remember doing something that felt the way this looks - in Ian's garden, off some plastic ramps!
