Anyone up for a ride this weekend?
Don't mind where, within reasonable distance (=1 hr) of Thornbury. FoD always a good possibility, as is Cwmcarn, Brecons, Mendips...
It's an ill wind that never blows at all.
who the hell is TBH?
no problem Martin
Hugh Plwm has gone to Ireland and I am left on my own with no cycling friend in the world
SO will have to make do with you,
If we go certain ground rules
No cycling quickly no matter how much safer Ian claims it is !
NO TALKING OR WHISTLING while climbing
and a respectful silence when I try to regain my breath.
Phone me on my mobile

I love this mixture of symbols but I think it is a mistake in my case cos no one calls me anyway and am clearly losing a chance to finally find a bestest friend.
Be persistent if you phone, cos believe it or not the annual cydweli beer festival is on and I have to sit in the hall surrounded by real ale posers drinking warm brown piss while I am trying to swallow my cider.
(as you may have gathered no lager and no coolers, how uncivilised)
It will probably be noisy
If you can not make it do not worry I will just drink more
There is allways a silver lining if you look hard enough
All the best to my many readers
LT
P.S.
The reject will not be there (retirement home/garage)

What do you mean not ENOUGH wind ?
narrow escape
Lucky we did not meet Martin
Cydweli beer festival took a very heavy toll on Mr Timid
Not able to take it any more
fuzzy head and giddy all day and fast asleep bt 3.30 P.M.
Not quite back to normal today
Try again some other day

TBH Huw, I stopped posting my (proposed) rides on here. Not really a conscious decision, but it seemed that there's only Nigel, Adrian & I who ever ride these days, so suggesting no real further interest. And, as we often ride together (AOGTC = all old gits together club), there seems little point in telling each other about the ride we are about to do (when the phone suffices) or just did (which we all experienced anyway).
Anyhow, wot's happening to the reject? Is it well or terminal since its enforced singlespeed conversion?
BTW, I have new wheels: see here.

good to hear from you Martin
Glad you are well
Reject's days are over i am afraid but if i am totally honest I AM NOT SURE WHY !
The only way the specilaised is better is that the gear change is more precise and presumably if I had looked around I could have had the rejects gears changed
I have replaced tyres too thin and multiple punctures
seat too thin giving me a multiple anus
and front forks to spongy and not as good as the ones you sold me.
But cos gears and brakes seem to be working so well i am lothe to fiddle
If it aint broke dont fix it eh?
Was on holiday in Alpe d'huez last month and did the ascent (chuffed to bits) but will not mention the time it took.
All best

Re: retired
Hmm. What symptoms does it display? Let's see if we can't get a diagnosis.dro wrote:Reject's days are over i am afraid but if i am totally honest I AM NOT SURE WHY !
I guess just about any [bike] problem is curable - at a cost. It's just a matter of figuring out if it's worth fixing. Just call me "drm"
You should have done it on a chair lift: It's a bugger trying to ski uphilldro wrote:Was on holiday in Alpe d'huez last month and did the ascent (chuffed to bits) but will not mention the time it took.
