Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde

Post by Graham_U »

Has anyone any experience of Santa Maria, Sal in Cape Verde Isles? We booked a cheap holiday there for mid-Nov. There a Windsurfing school on site, but its extra. I'd be interested in any feed back on the windsurfing or the destination in general.

I forgot to write up this trip, but Sal was a good destination for late Nov/Dec. Got about 10 days out of 14 in planning conditions. There is a hell of a shorebreak on the West cost where we were, the Hire place insisted on walking the kit through the shore break as you were not insured for that bit.

We tried a different Island Boa Vista last year for the first week in Dec. No planning days for the 6 days we were there (lost one days because the Snow closed LGW). Although Sal is more of an unfinished building site, it was better option all round.

I like the style that they walk their dogs in Sal.
