cheap week ?

Post by dro »

Lord Timid and some friends have decided to go for a very late booking
Mark Warner holiday leaving weekend 15/09/2006
Would probably not suit the crack squad but the pootlers, potterers and enthusiastic amateurs would love it
Free wine with food
all food included
If absolutely neccessary we can windurf or sail a bit
Time to switch off
All welcome
will decide where and when Wednesday before we go, depending on price !!!

Bit concerned you might not find it windy enough at that time of year for your recently acquired "wave jumper" status

We've just booked a fortnight at their place in Kos, leaving on the 16th., it looked like a reasonable deal as the forecasts for Kos are OK. But we did get stung for a late booking fee

The other problem is Huw that whilst we're adept at making the Dinner last as long as the wine is refilled, the last time we went to one of these places the Lager cost a small fortune and the place was so isolated it was difficult to get out in the evening to a local bar.

Hm

Post by dro »

quite right Graham but I must admit I love the atmosphere there and as I do not drink wine I just have to bite the bullet
We were in Kos this time two years ago and the weather was wonderful
You will love it

we are still waiting for the prices to drop
AT moment in order of preference
No 1 Corsica but possibly too close to end of season
No 2 sardinia no children (hooray!!)
No 3 Kos just Kos we have been there before

So possibility we might meet

All Best

beware/warning

Pecking order beginning to change
decided corsica might be to cold and very poor feedback on internet
Sardinia looks rather small and poor feedback on internet
SO ONLY CHOICE LEFT

Even more puzzling is how sad one must be to spend all that time pasting all those smiley's in there???

What you really need is a nice, new(ish) mountain bike to take your mind of things. As it happens, I know of one ideally suited to your needs...

Aaargh !!!!!!

It's bad enough going on holiday with one nomad!

Still.... at least I think I'll be safe from whinging from you if there's no wind. Graham has a bit of a problem settling down by the pool with a good book for some reason when there isn't any around .... can't think why. :???:

decision time

Post by dro »

So the moment of truth is getting closer
Tremble in your boots Val cos it's looking very much as if Kos
is the place to be/not to be next week.
But I am prepared for large amounts of money to change venue ,the gang will not know (our secret Val)
If money not forthcoming then !!!!!!!!
See you next week.
Make sure you have the timid uniform ready for club nights.Do not worry red shell suits with yellow stripes matched with rabbit ears are all the rage on the Greek islands.
Trust me I'm a timid.

All very well to pour scorn on my puzzle BUT what was the answer?
The bike interests me Martin in a strange masochistic sort of way
Not sure I understand all those words you put in the description but as long as it's red it will be fine.
If it is the same bike that you have used in past trips it must be very good
cos I seem to remember it was much faster than mine.

Price seems o.k
but can I confirm after holiday

The one and only
Lord Timid

Oh yes before I forget, Graham can talk to us too
But should warn you Val that I tend to whinge whatever the wind conditions

If I were to answer this extremely simply puzzle, wouldn't that make me as sad as the puzzle's creator?

Sure, Huw - no probs. I'll hang on 'till you're back.

I'd prefer to sell the forks with the bike (I'll even be prepared to fit them for you), as they are hugely superior to the Manitou's on there. Of course, both sets of forks are red.

Have a great hol, but be careful - it can be very windy on Kos. Make sure you take some re-useable ice packs to chill any remaining vestiges of taste out of the lager, though. :-{L

I think I've just failed the first rule of being a timid ......

I'm not taking anything red with me! The nearest I've got is a pink T shirt - will that do or will I be shunned by all timids for entire duration of the holiday ?????

We'll Huw, it looks like you've had the timid effect on the wind. What was looking nice with winds in the high teens last week, look to cut off as soon as we arrive on Saturday evening. It was the main reason I choose this site.

Nothing now showing up until late Weds now.

Oh well I hope that free wine is up to scratch. Might even be tempted out in those big things that you can sit on for a pootle round.

If your look for an option in the future, I was told by an instructor at Warner's a few years back the Palm Beach site is good for windsurfers and adults only most of the time. Would have choosen there myself if it was not for the fact we had been round the corner at Ortakent in June.

Interesting I quite fancied Corsica or Sardinia, but the weather seemed more of a risk this time of year and neither were known of the wind. Kos on the other hand was supposed to be windy, or at least it was before the Timids arrived. :x

Are you flying from Gatwick or somewhere more local?
