Post by rachael »

Have just bought a delightful but finless board (red of course), does anyone happen to have a us box 28cm freestyle wave fin for sale by any chance please?
Cheers

what shade of red?
AND are you sure it's the original colour?

If you have any doubt I still have a small amount of the magic paint
A snip at £1,000,000 a can.

If you are interested I can arrange a securicor delivery

Your Nielson friend should be able to help. I came back from Dahab with a couple of used fins that fill the gaps I'd been looking for for some time, at very reasonable prices thanks to the instructors network.

But I've decided Huw is wrong as far as boards go, Blue is definitely the colour of the best boards, Cyrano was Blue and so in my great if somewhat battered Tabou Rocket, even the Kombat is partly blue, although I think its grey side may explain something :???:

Graham - it's all your fault! I just bought this board from Neilson in Dahab but they didn't have any wave fins left! So as the blue boards are to blame for the fin shortage, I'm on the red side of the colour war today!

Dro I think the colour is good thanks but have you got any magic paint you can paint on cardboard cutout fins to turn them into proper ones please?

Cheers,
Rachael

Have you checked out Windy world. When I was in last month Rich had a good box of cheap second hand bits and bobs. There were some fins, but I can not remember what type. Unfortunately I found the US Box fins harder to come by when I was looking but one brief mention in passing to Sam at Dahab, and one magically appeared the next day.

Some late options

Post by NigelP »

Hi Rach

I have a 30cm US box fin you can borrow for a couple of months.....

Nick thinks WW might haver a used 26cm or similar fin

Car boot sales are good. Forces of Nature website (S Wales) can also be productive. You could try Tony at Daymer Bay Shop; he has some old Stix fins which are new and because Stix folded many years ago, they are good value. 01208 863616

And we are going to Vass in a couple of weeks if you can do a deal with Tom.

Some options to ponder

Nigel, nice to hear from you, how's life? Have you been windsurfing much?

Your many options all sound interesting - I will get into all of them! Failing that it is my birthday in a few weeks so my fallback option is get my folks to chip in for a new one!

I hope you and Mel have a fab time in Vass, and please say hi to Tom & co for me.

Rachael,

I am pretty sure I have a very good or new 28cm us box fin that I would be happy to move on.

Ooh that sounds good, thanks. I am already bidding on one on ebay which ends tomorrow so will see how that goes and give you a shout if I'm still finless after that.
