Social - Wed 8th Jul

Post by MartinF »

I notice on the website Google calendar that the venue for this coming Wed has been changed from the New Inn, Mayshill to the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell. Whilst I was looking forward to going to the New Inn, I definitely won't be going to the Rising Sun.

Is there a good reason for the late change?

Changed because of info' from Ruth via her daughter who works at the New Inn saying not much room for just drinking since a very food orientated place. Switched to Rising Sun because it looked ok being the GWB Brewery Tap.
No matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers.

True that it's foodie, but by 8pm on a Wed, most eaters will have finished. It's also a fairly big pub, so lots of seating + large garden. GWB beers have been rubbish for over a year now.

Too late to change back again now, it's gone out in the newsletter. Rising Sun it is.

I had some very good GWB beer down at the Windmill a few months ago.

Is anybody going to be there?

I could make it but if nobody else posts then I won't be going.

Phil and Ruth will be going, never been in the Rising Sun.

Sorry about the change Martin, Clare worked there a few years
ago as a waitress (cash for UNI) and she was concerned about
the Nomad club night failing, she mostly worked Fri, Sat and Sundays.
Would be nice to see you, hope the knee is good.

Thanks Phil. Knee is improving well. Available time isn't. Nothing new there, I suppose. Hope you had a good evening.
