Portland Sat 20th?

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

Portland Sat 20th?

Post by Sue »

Hardly dare say it in case I jinx it again this week - but anyone got their eye on Saturday? Am supposed to be doing other things (!), however I may be able to rearrange ... particularly if I know others are around to play!

Early days yet, but if forecast the same at the end of the week, me and Lorraine will make a return visit to sample more of the Portland 'micro-climate' on Saturday.

Sue,
Much as I would like to, I have commitments for both Sat and Sun this week.
Hope you get a good sail in and it is not even looking cold there on the weekend.

Desperately dissappointed to miss my last opportunity to attend an away day this year-When you work for yourself hard decisions have to be taken sometimes. So I am determined to make up for it this coming weekend.Saturday sounds just fine to me.

Hi Bob - thanks for the reply. Have a good weekend. Will let you know on whether it is "not even looking cold there "!. After last Sunday - I will admit it is looking quite balmy

Hi Dudley - will need to recheck all forecasts tomorrow. They have dropped off slightly! Have you sailed at Portland in an E ? I remember it was a SW when we met you there last. The wind is directly onshore in an E - so the water state can be quite choppy/ little waves, which can make uphauling a little challenging! Good news is that it is low tide for most of the day though - so you should be able to stand in the sailing area (channel bit excepted!) and for quite a way out, and then beach start rather than lots of uphauling. At least it is a safe wind direction :D

Anyway, no doubt we'll be reposting about this tomorrow!!

Oh I wish I could go but I'm moving house on Sat. It does look a bit chilly though!

Have fun,
Rach

Good luck with the move, Rachael.

Hope you have an easier loading-up setup, and storage for your gear, in your new place. I'm sure that was a top priority .. :D

Well a personal parking space will be a plus, but a teeny tiny flat will be a challenge especially now we'll need to store windsurf kit for two - if you don't hear from me again I was probably crushed in the night under precariously balanced sails!
