New Years Day sail

Post by Loz »

Headed down to Portland for New Years Day. Arrived to find it plenty warm enough - 11.5'C and one guy already out on a biggish sail occasionally planing. As I had put a big hole in the 5.7m the day before at WSM, there was no rigging choice, and hoping for the wind to pick up rigged a 5m, leaving Justin the other 5.7m. Once rigged waited in the car for a 'shower' to pass over. Rather than pass over, this turned to torrential rain with no wind :( .
After about an hour the rain started to die off and the wind filled in enough for an hour of well powered up sailing, making me glad I didnt have the 5.7 :D .

Glad you had a good one - was tempted to join you and bring windsurfing kit  but my knee was playing up and did not fancy the 2hrs 20 each way drive which is really painful on a bad day.
Having fun on the Dark Side
