Portland Sun 27th and Wed 30th

Post by PhilipS »

Went to Portland Sun with Julian, Sue and Ruth.
Not a great forecast and low tide.
Never had Portland down as a low tide venue, nevertheless had a great time.

Enjoyed it so much I went back today (Wednesday).
Bit of a trek with the kit and windier than Sunday.
Had a fantastic couple of hours, surprised at the number of people there mid week.
Not so many kites mid week, more windsurfers.

I went to Hamworthy yesterday as planned. Wind took a while to kick in about mid-day, then stayed most of the day until I started to drop off the plan at about 4-30. I spent the first hour and half with a 7.5 on my Rocket125, plus a few recovery breaks. Before admitting defeat (or being over powered) and changing down to 6.5 for another couple of hours before the wind dropped. Plenty of locals out on various combos from 5M upto 7.9M
