Weather Station dead

Post by MartinF »

The anemometer on our Weston weather station seems to have died. There's been no variation in wind strength (0) or direction (N) for over 1 week now. Has the anemometer become disconnected??

Whatever - don't believe it for the time being.
It's an ill wind that never blows at all.

The wind strength & direction unit - 5 or 6 metres up off the ground on a mast mounted up the chimney on Brian's house - appears to have dead batteries.

Brian can't get up there at the mo due to damaging the cartilage in his knee. I had a go on Sunday, but bottled-out extending the ladder beyond what I thought was its safe limit, so couldn't reach the top U bolt. Anyone have a scaffold tower handy?

'Fraid it's likely to stay dead until Brian gets mended knee - hopefully before end Aug.
