Another Windy Weekend 2nd/3rd November

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

Another Windy Weekend 2nd/3rd November

Post by Justin »

Missed the 'Storm' last weekend (working :( ) so keen to get out this weekend. Current forecast looking good. Thinking Newton Saturday, Portland for some Speed  Sunday.
Anyone else have any plans?

I am also eyeing up Portland for Sunday 8) - it's time we made use of the club's GPS for a bit of a Nomad speed competition?

The tide is fairly low, but not mega low - nevertheless may need to watch out out for sandbars, and there will be tons of kitey things.

It's looking promising at the moment anyway :D .

Saturday, I'll miss - as I'm unlikely to cope with two full days on the row.

On a rugby trip to Devon and Cornwall this week end so can not make it. Although I should have more chance for a midweek sail from next week, although as the weather getting colder my motivation is starting to drop off. :(

Yes, looks very windy especially Sat afternoon into Sunday morning. I think there's a lot of uncertainty in the forecast still though so I'll consider options for a bit longer. :D

Could be tempted.

Newton on Saturday perhaps a little bit more than my ability can handle looking at the forecast and I would not want to damage any of my expensive gear.

Sunday at Portland looking good at the moment although as Matt says forecast is changing. Hopefully we will have a chance of an unplanned speed event with a good turnout of Nomads.

Will make a call in the morning but at present probably Hill Head tomorrow and Portland on Sunday although Newton or Aberavon is possible for tomorrow. Might even throw in a windsurfer and GPS for sunday 8)

Will be bringing the club GPS to Portland for Sunday - the morning looking ideal for breaking those current Nomad speed records at the moment 8) .

Given the forecast, I may be trying 'not' to go fast  !

Will be bringing my old 1993 vintage Tiga 268 if anyone wants a play.

Will any of the fast boys be there, Adrian, Brian and Ian L to give us mere mortals something to aim for.

Where are people going tomorrow and what time.

I'm going to Axbridge on Saturday - sailing or not - so will see what the water situation is. Rumour has it that the water level has risen :o

May do Portland on Sunday as well. But a bit undecided at the moment.

Was thinking of Newton today but doesn't look windy at the moment and Southerly. Then could be very strong later as the front comes over. :?:

We are heading to Portland for Sunday. Planning on getting there early to catch the best of the forecast wind. The club GPS is packed ready for those record breaking speeds 8)

Still got car issues - sorted the tyre, and now have an oil leak! Ian H has kindly offered me a lift though - think he wants to make sure that he at least beats one person in the speed trials  .

Am restricted to taking one board - so based on the forecasts I think it will need to be the Acid!

See you there.

I'll have some spare boards in the van Sue, but I expect they're all too big for you! :D
