weekend 30/31 Oct

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

weekend 30/31 Oct

Post by Sue »

It's very quiet on here ..

Looks windy for Sat, but I am otherwise committed, so no sailing that day and I won't be pestering you all for location decisions this week .. :D. Hoodie is v disappointed after it's outing last week

Sunday doesn't look too brill at the moment.

Hoping WSM may deliver early part of next week during the neapy tide period.

what a disappointment
I was all ready to be enticed to Knapp or Newton by the muse of Bristol

Mind you how about tomorrow afternoon?

No idea what direction of wind suits which location
BUT I do have the afternoon off and Lady T is willing to act as look out and liaison officer with the coastguard.

New Boy (Novice Nic) ...is going to Portland all day Friday

Post by nicwoody »

Hello All,
I'm Novice Nic, a "re-beginner" (used to be all right about 20 years ago). Decided to get back into the old windsurfing mularky [as winter approaches!!!]. Met a couple of you guys down at Portland last Saturday and some of the "Welshies" in Porthcawl last Friday. Just seen the Big Salty Portland forecast for tomorrow (23-25 mph all day, southerly), so am heading back to Portland tomorrow morning....might see some of you down there (if you're into skiving Friday's like me!!). Can't go Saturday...family comittments...but better wind Friday anyway....
Regards,
Novice Nic

Good evening Lord T - unfortunately I will have to decline your kind invitation to meet with your goodself and Lady T tomorrow afternoon - I knew there was a reason why I should not commit to other things  !! Portland is very close to Barry - just a snip of a distance at 3 hrs drive away. There are stones to negotiate too at Portland (not quite the scale of the Knap) to help you feel at home should you ever visit. Appears some of BWA may be at Oxwich tomorrow if you fancied waves again .. :D

Hi Novice Nic - pleased to see you got back again after last weekend's trip. Looks pretty windy there tomorrow, but I'm otherwise occupied and can't make it.

Hope you both have fun! Going to leave Monday and Tuesday COMPLETELY free in the hope that there is some wind .. :D

No is the answer.

Anyway, re the weekend, the good forecast of a few days ago is once again going down the pan. However I'll still probably check out Weston tomorrow, even though it'll be southerly.

As an inland option, there's also this going on at Llandegfedd

I definitely plan on going somewhere tomorrow, but am busy on Sunday. At the moment I am still to be decided but Hamworthy is looking promising. But could be convinced elsewhere if others are going.

Oooh Portland looks nice tomorrow! Tides seem friendly enough too.
I was going to run a load of errands...but I could be tempted down there instead! :)

Weston looks a bit iffy so I think I'll try Portland on Saturday. Last outing before the clocks go back.
