Woke up early and looked out window about 7.30am, weather didn’t look at all tempting; as I knew some nomads were heading down to WSM this morning.
Went back to bed, that beer was strong last night!! Well that’s my excuse ☺
9am looked out the window again, Blimey it’s sunny and windy in Bristol!
Now I’ve convinced myself to stay home and have an easy day doing jobs around the house and updating my website.
Already I could see the comments on the Nomad forum of how good a session everybody had, so blew all my plans out of the window, not a difficult decision and decided to make a guest appearance at WSM
Think I arrived at WSM at 12; saw Justin rigging up and Lorraine hiding in the car! Also saw Gorgeous Ian rigging up, whata guy!!
Matt was out already testing the winds on a 6.5, going from planning to wobbling around. Not the winds Justin predicted.
I decided to go for my trusty Mistral 103L and 6.9 sail.
Got out onto the water and after a few mishaps, got blasting, the winds wasn’t consisted, but the sun was shining which made it very pleasant ☺
Had a few runs both ways and though it wasn’t cold was quite happy to jump off to turn round, then go for any turns. Yeah I know – chicken ha ha.
Had a spell where I took ages to get going, not powered up to get me through the lulls, once going seemed OK, but felt the sail wasn’t feeling good. So thought I would go in have a coffee and rest, as been out for an hour and an half.
Walking kit back up the beach suddenly noticed my sail had 2 tears in the main panel and 1 in the bottom panel. That explains it, I thought I was just sailing crap! Careful Ian, as I can hear you now, I’m not that crap ha ha….
So that was my session over as the sail is repairable and thought best not to go back out and do any more damage.
Back at the vehicles, there was a Nomad gathering, drinking coffee but no cakes!
Hang on, as I discovered when packing kit this morning the Mini Rolls that Rachael gave me to hand out at Hamworthy – Result!!
So with the start of the Mini Adventure I raced back to my wagon and found the Mini Rolls, there was 5 left and by chance there was 5 Nomads, being me and the gorgeous Lorraine, Justin Matt and not so Gorgeous Ian – Oh Fcuk here we go again Ha Ha!
So Rach, you missed a good session and sorry you weren’t there, but a Big Thanks for the Mini Rolls as they were Yummy! ☺
Enjoyed by all see photos!
So that concludes this Mini Adventure, a great day out in December and still quite warm for this time of year ☺
