Got in a sneaky session at WSM today after noticing XCW showing a decent westerly blowing. Couldn't get there until 3.30ish which was around high tide but quite a few out who had the same idea, including Ambrosia. The word was it was 5m weather, but despite the sand blowing across the beach I thought that sounded a bit small so went for 5.7 on the Evo 80. Unfortunately I'd missed the best of it and, after a bit of messing about in the shore break, changed up to the Kombat 96 to get going. Very onshore too so difficult getting out but once there had quite a fun time as the tide dropped back and the waves cleaned up. The wind gradually eased off by 5.30 but I'd had a reasonable sail by then even if it hadn't turned out quite as well as I was hoping as I drove onto the beach. Worth the trip.
