Indoor Windsurfing - London boat show, Jan '04

...took place as part of the annual Boat Show - this year, for the 1st time, at ExCel on the London Docklands. A group of some 20 Nomads made the trip and - despite the adverse reports we'd heard about problems earlier in the week - had a fantastic time.

For sure, the marquee was no Bercy & the airflow left a lot to be desired, making conditions very difficult for the sailors. But they were up for it, and the atmosphere was excellent. Where else could you get to see so many of the sports' top stars for just a fiver. Was was even better; as they'd been backlogged due to problems earlier in the week, they had to fit more sessions in towards the end (We were there on the last day), so instead of just the jump session, we found that we could get into the earlier slalom sessions and freestyle, too. Woohoo!!

Check the pics & movie clips. All were taken on the last day of the event - Sun 18th, Jan. This was the PWA vs the UKWA day. Well worth the trip & loads better than mooching around at home on a cold, January day.
