Windsurfing Diary - GlossaryGlossary of termsTripA visit to a location. A trip is normally a single day, however it could be a weekend or longer. All the driving costs to get to a venue are allocated to a trip, so it is important to ensure that if you sail the same venue on two consecutive days without driving home in between, you enter it as one trip with multiple sessions. Parking fees and launch fees are stored against each trip. SessionA session describes a particular sailing session with one set of equipment. For example, if you sail in the morning and the afternoon with the same board, sail etc, then this could be entered as just one session. If you change sail half way through the day, then this should be entered as two sessions to allow the usage of each item of kit's usage to be correctly recorded. If you use exactly the same equipment on two consecutive days, you should record it as two sessions. LocationThe location is used to store all the information about the place that you have sailed. The information collected includes the mileage and the launch fee, however since the launch fee often varies during the year, the value stored against the location is only used as a prompt when entering the trip details, it is not actually used directly in any of the cost calculations. Fun FactorThis is a number from one to ten, used to identify how enjoyable a particular sailing session was. One is mega, ten is pants.
