Portland 5th Sept (Splinter Group)

Well - Portland has done it again, fabulous day was had by all. As Ian said there were plenty of Nomads there (See trips). See if I can remeber them: Adrian, Matt, Ian, Sue, Justin & Lorraine, Chris & Gerry, Mike & Pierrette, Alan (New member), Mark, Simon. Sorry if I've left anyone out....

Where to Go? Sept 4th/5th

It looks like with the wind direction we would rather go to Portland. Windguru is showing wind on Sat and Sun, Sat looks to start well then tail off, Sunday looks better.

Chris has a new board to try so we will almost definately go down on Sunday.

Portland Sat 10th July

Another trip down to Portland harbour for Chris and I. We had arranged to meet up with Mike and Pierrette Simmons and Mikes friend Ian from work. We left early to catch the higher tide in the morning since it was going to be a fairly neapy day. There wasn't a lot of wind about - but there was enough...

4th July - Portland

Chris and I made it down to Portland and had one of those classic days. Plenty of wind and sunshine. I have to admit I was on a 7.5 and Chris a 6.5, but there were plenty of occasions when we should have changed down, but we were enjoying ourselves too much! The boat yard was very busy, but at 12:00...

Wanted - F2 Pheonix

Strange as it may seem - as I used to own one of these boards!! (So did our illustrious ex chairman!) We have a need for one now. Does anyone know of one that is still in reasonable nick and would like to sell?

Thanks

Gerry

Dahab?

Chris and I are looking at a Club Vass trip to Dahab 18/25 July staying at the Ganet Sinai. All in £599 from Gatwick. Does anyone have any background info about Club Vass and the Ganet Sinai, location and access to the windsurfing area's? Is there anyone interested in going as well - perhaps? Thanks...

Sorry we missed you Adrian. I think all in all Portland produced the goods again. It was unfortunate that Chris and I had to go home early.......but hopefully Mike and Pierrette managed to get some more sailing in after we left.

Portland 15/16 Aug

Saturday was a good day, the tide was in all day and the wind did blow. (All day) I was on 7.5 and Chris 6.5, biggish kit but it was very enjoyable with plenty of planing runs. Sunday started with not a nats breath of wind. Mike and Pierrette had already set off when we called them and decided to co...

Portland Nomads Away day 16th Aug

There was a small turn out of 5 Nomads at the Black Horse last night, probably frightened off by the Morris dancers outside in the car park! The prediction from Windguru has worsened and only showing some wind on saturday. Chris and I will be down in Portland for the weekend so will be down in the B...

Portland 24th July

This was our last full day in Portland. We've had one of our best weeks of Windsurfing in the UK. Just one out of 7 where we didn't sail at all. We got down to the boatyard early to discover there was plenty of SW wind and the sun was shining. The water was almost at its highest point which meant a ...
