sun 29 Axbridge

Slight N in the wind meant huge gusts, and some massive lulls ! Started on a 6.5, massively overpowered so dropped to the 5.5. Still massively overpowered at times, but then wobbling in the gaps. Got fed up with the wobbling, so went back to the 6.5 and my last session on that was the best of the da...

Sat 28 Cold Knap

A good day today at the Knap - sun worked it's wonders to swing the wind round to the SW and it really kicked in. 8) 8) Started on a 5.5 and 85 litre , but overpowered. Eventually changed to the 4.7 and 85 (with a small wave fin) and had a much better time - perfectly powered and all nice and contro...

Hi Martin
After a full day out today, think I'll stick with a more leisurely start and go to Axbridge. Knap was really good today - and should work tomorrow too.

Have a good sail

Hi Graham I am going to give Knap a go ! There is the potential for it to work - 15mph W per BBC plus sun, so hopefully it will be windier than that and swing more SW. I think it's a little like Weston - in that if it's from the west and sun then it is ofter windier than that. Anyway, I'd rather giv...

Hi Graham

My friend, Tony, is going to Knap tomorrow as reckons it should be good. Low tide is 4.30 so best sailing is all afternoon to about 1 hr post low tide .

If I go I'll try and get there for midday. I'll recheck in the morning - but I would say at the moment it's looking Ok

Hi Graham Per Kevlin's posting a couple of weeks ago - apparently a NW is OK as long as there is sunshine, as the wind then bends round to a W or SW (apparently!). See - there is always a good reason to make sure the sun is shining when you go for a sail .. :D Hopefully Kelvin will be able to provid...

Hi Huw

Sorry to hear about your back. Was the Knap the culprit, or your fast tack practising at Llandegfedd??

Hope it sorts itself out soon!

Weekend 28/ 29 / 30 August

Any plans?

I was wondering if Knap may be OK tomorrow - tides are good, and would need sun for it to work, which is forecast.

Any thoughts from anyone looking to sail this weekend??

Hi Richard Hope you have a good time. Not sure what my plans are at the moment. Sunday may be OK windwise - but time for the forecasts to change yet. Think I would prefer the Knap if the wind is in the right direction. Is Alison going to take to the water? Have fun, and I hope it stays dry for you! ...

Yes. very windy - BBC forecast was right!! I can echo Justin that I was also v well powered up (well overpowered on a 4.7 and 74l!), and that I also spent plenty of time in the air and also in the water - but in the main it was unintentional!! Some pretty large lumps and waves that increased as the ...

Hi Graham

See you later at WSM. BBC is showing 25mph W late afternoon - which is hard to believe at the moment.

Tuesday is looking v good too.

Popped up to Axbridge early afternoon- there was some wind (12 knts!) and a few were planing on ginormous sails, but it looked SO flat!! Decided to go home via WSM on the off-chance there was more wind there. Arrived at Weston to no wind, plus the parking attendant cheerily telling me there had been...
