Hi Rachael
You can sail at Axbridge too, even though not a club member. It's £10 - and you are allowed to sail there a handful of times without joining.

Have a good day wherever you end up

Hi Justin

Thanks for letting me know your plans. I'll check it out in the morning - but looks too wet for my chair :D :D

Left some clothing at Axbridge on Weds so may pop up there to retrieve it. Hopefully WSM will deliver on wind and sun in the next few days!!!
Have a good sail.

Hi Justin

Currently not attracted to all day of MIST per xc weather for Portland - although do agree that is the windiest place to be tomorrow. Will reserve judgement until later , but may just stay local!!

What does anyone reckon re the weekend - weather and locations?
Portland looks wet (rainy! or MIST all day per xc weather!), but wind is forecast.

Sat WSM could be OK?

Also WSM on Sunday , Monday and Tuesday look promising ... :D

Hi Justin
It's looking rainy at Portland for Saturday  . Is WSM looking a better bet?

Alison - poor excuse! Need to get you out on the water in the UK whilst it's nice and warm!! :D

Off to Axbridge shortly to assess the tide and weed conditions!!

Lovely sail 8) :D  . Nicely powered up on a 5.5 and 85 - as Justin said, some great bumps/ swell a little further out. Knap is fantasitic when it works - probably favoured over WSM for me. V pleasant surprise to see Dro too. Suspect he will be a frequent visitor at the Knap now. The journey the...

Just packing my gear up now (that's the worse part!). Can't resist it even though I have lots of "should" things I "should" do !

See you later Justin

Thanks Justin !  . I had forgotten that bit for the write-up  I may have mentioned a session at Axbridge rather than Portland - but yes v happy to help out where I can. I know much of the theory even if I can't always do it myself!! Let's take a check on the forecasts at the end of t...

Hi Justin
Not quite decided yet as I have some other things I should probably get on with. Presumably conditions are still looking good - what time are you planning on getting there?

Hi Justin

Definitely can't do tomorrow now - had to stop dithering and make some other commitments. Will see how it goes re Sunday - won't make any other plans on the chance that it is windy!

Timo - I've only been to Knap once and believe SW/W are the best. I wouldn't fancy a NW sail there v much :(

I've not sailed at WSM in a N or NW, but it's probably preferable to Knap. Would be an early start though ..

Didn't go to the Knap as it wasn't looking sunny enough to swing the wind round to the SW (preferred direction if I was to be there on my own!!). Looks NW at the moment - so probably a wise decision!! Re the WSM BBQ, Mike - probably just needs someone to ensure that there is a BBQ there for use! :D ...

Didn't mention timing - usually people meet up from about 8.00 - 8.30pm. Sometimes you have to search them out as they hide in back rooms (as I found out on my first social when I didn't manage to find anyone ...so went home again!!)
