Giving it up, selling it all off

:(

After some thought I have decided to give up doing or claiming to do this wonderful sport we call windsurfing. It has been a blast, but unfortunately new diversions have come along, and I can no longer justify keeping all the equipement when its only losing value and not getting wet anymore.

So I will be selling all of my gear.

As well as a Syncro 103, some Tushingham sails and some decent masts, there will be all of the other usual paraphenalia up for grabs. Booms, mast feet, fins, neoprene clobber, extensions, easy-rig, bits of rope etc. I even have a few videos dating from around 2000.

Anyone interested in any of this small stuff, or any of the large pieces?

I will start taking photo's and putting ads in the classified section over the coming weeks.

Blimey, sounds a bit radical . I thought windsurfing was a lifelong aliment, once started, you can't stop yourself from getting mesmerised by trees swaying in the wind and wind blown "chop" forming on puddles on windy days.

Alternatively of course, this could be a very smart way into getting new kit. Convince the wife that your stopping, flog the kit, then be miserable as sin for 6 months till she says. "Oh go on; buy some more kit and get out of the bloody house". Sounds like it might work  Alas Neroli reads this forum, so I think I have blown any chance of using this approach myself but I hope it works for you..... Looking forward to seeing you @ Weston again in 6 months.

Radical; if only my windsurfing had attained this level. Sadly I think I only achieved remedial or possibly referable.

Mountain biking is great fun though isn't it? LOL

The old trees swaying in the wind thing hasn't really grabbed me for more than a year now, either they haven't been swaying or I haven't noticed. Don't tell me its just been a bad year for wind and its about to go nucleur again this summer?

Ooh, what sails will you be selling?

I really should be prioritising buying windsurf kit below buying a car so I can actually get to the sea, but I might still be tempted!

Hi Rachael

they are all Tushingham:

7.1 Max
6.0 Storm
5.2 Vulcan
4.5 Storm
4.0 Storm

The 7.1 and 5.2 are well worn, the 6.0 is newer, and the 4.5 and 4.0 have only been used a few times. All in the original bags with rigging instructions.

I'll be taking some photos soon and will post everything in the for sale section.

That just about says it all, doesn't it?

I can't remember the last time I used my 4.7 or 4.2. I don't think I've ever used my 3.7 :(

Hi there,

I'm a total newbie but have the bug and need some kit. Even if you don't have any left can you let me know how much you think I need to spend on second hand gear.

Don't own a single thing yet

Cheers
