Hello,
I moved to Bristol from Spain 3 weeks ago and I have been looking for a goo spot close to Bristol city. It should be a rental club, because my boards and sails are in Spain. I have no car despite I would be able to go there(renting a car, bus, train..) if there's a good forecast. I hope you can help me!
Thanks,
Marc

Hi Subi. Welcome to hot, sunny England Well, at least it's windy at the moment.
Bad news with board rentals: I don't know of anywhere around Bristol where you can rent windsurfing kit. There may be a possibility in Poole, on the South coast, but that's a 3 hour drive, and if you don't have a car...
It may sometimes be possible to borrow someone's kit - if they're feeling generous, but not guaranteed.
Try to come along to one of our meetings: Check our diaries page for details. It's best to meet people and see if they may have any other suggestions.

It's an ill wind that never blows at all.
Hi, yes sorry there's not many hire options very near to Bristol, unless you are a beginner in which case Gwent Adventures at Llandegfedd reservoir in Wales is good - www.gwent-adventures.co.uk - you would need to hire a car to get there.
If you go to the South coast the nearest spots (both flat water) where you can hire kit are:
Poole Harbour

Portland Harbour (Weymouth)
http://uk.otc-windsurf.com/
http://www.windtek.co.uk/index.html?action=31
The public transport to Portland should be good as they aren't providing any car parks there for the Olympics! You can get a train direct to weymouth, I'm not sure how far the station is from Portland, or rent a car. You can also get to poole by train.
Have fun!
