Portland - Nomads event 3rd May

We made it down to Portland and were joined by Mike and Pierrette Simmons and Brian Derrick. We thought more of us might have made it down, the Boat Yard had plenty of room considering it was a bank holiday weekend. But we were blessed with enough wind to have some long planing runs, if a bit gusty at times and a few big holes. I'd forgotten how heavy a 8.5 m sail was - particularly when water starting. The others also had fairly sizeable kit up as well. Chris had a go on the carve 145 with 6.5 m sail and had plenty of fun with that combination.

All in all we had a good time, the sun shone and the wind did blow - a good first time out for us this year.
