What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

Sunday 22/4

Post by Sue »

Anyone tempted to sail tomorrow?

Looks like it should be windy enough - not sure I really want to drive to Hamworthy, so if it's windy locally I may stay around here and pop up to Axbridge. But then again if there is a crowd going somewhere ... ?

Portland looks decent windwise, but is a very low tide for the majority of the day.

What's anyone planning to do? The sun and wind outside at the moment makes me feel I should be on my board somewhere ... :)

Please, please, please somebody go to Poole or Portland.
Currently decorating the downstairs toilet.
Ruth will not let me go windsurfing on my own.
I'm desperate to get out with the new 144 swim float.
If not it's another day painting round the loo for me.
Anybody? It's a good cause.

I intend going to Portland tomorrow - the low tide will suit as I should not be getting wet following a little incident yesterday involving a ladder and casulaty  and a big chunk missing from my arm and tendon that they cannot stitch  My suit stays dry unless I swim for a bit or hit the water really hard so hopefully a bit of conservative sailing will be ok

Ouch Adrian, silly boy!

Neroli, Axel and I are thinking about heading down to Poole - won't be making a particularly early start though, we had triplets born on Monday so need to sort them out first  (baa baa baa).

PhilipS - we will be in a Silver LWB Renault Master with black windows in the side.
If found, please return to the pub.

Sunday Sail

Post by Brian D »

Time for me to get wet for the first time this year - have spoken with Mike & Pierette who are both planning to indulge in a spot of windy sport . We favour Portland over Hamworthy - Although the tide at Portland is low the wind direction (west) means Portland will almost certainly have cleaner and stronger wind than at Hamworthy so we will suffer the walk for the better wind conditions.
This of course is just the plan - will check forecast and forum in morning but if it remains the same - Portland it is for us
Cheers

I'm going to join the Poole contigent. Hope I manage to get up fairly early.
Won't be able to check the forum again after this. Please will someone text me if everybody suddenly decides to go to Portland instead.

Will be heading for Portland early to catch the tide.
The wind looks best at Portland. Hopefully the tide is not as low as forecast.

Ian/Neroli

Congatluations/congratulations/congratulations baa

Silly yes but from the man who juggles angle grinders

From the Hamworthy crowd - i would be interested to know if any one is kiting - will stick to Portland just because of lack of water

Ha, I flatter myself that I am a reformed angle grinder juggler - I am older & wiser now!

What's your excuse?

feeling of belonging

Post by dro »

Know how you feel Brian D

I always get very excited before my first bath as well.
Mine was last Tuesday when Lady T finally lost her cool and
forced me to ged rid of my winter protective layer of dirt.
Feel very cold now and rather vulnerable.
Plumber has spent last 4 days trying to unblock the plug hole.

Have a nice time

LT

PS a yellow plastic duck always adds to the occasion
What do you mean not ENOUGH wind ?
